V1 Apartments is a two-floor apartment project in the heart of St. Petersburg that embodies the idea of finding a balance between fantasy and individuality.
With ceilings reaching nearly 5 meters and a double-height living space, the apartment became an incredible canvas for our creative ideas — a place where the interior is not just a beautiful cover, but an independent concept.
The main challenge of this project was to combine elements of Art Nouveau and Gothic style, creating a fusion of eras while maintaining a fully functional and comfortable living space.
At the entrance to the apartment, we are greeted by a vaulted ceiling and an antique mirror positioned opposite the front door.
Passing through the walk-in wardrobe, we enter the main living space — an open-plan kitchen and living room with a fireplace, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and a library ladder running along a rail to reach the highest shelves. The space also features a lounge area, a historic built-in stove concealed behind folding doors, and a staircase leading to the second floor.
One of the bookshelves conceals a hidden door: sliding it aside reveals the entrance to the private bedroom area. A canopy bed, a dressing table, and soft, subdued lighting create a more intimate and secluded atmosphere.
One of the project’s highlights is the second-floor bathroom, inspired by the atmosphere of traditional Turkish baths. The entire space is finished in a single material and has almost no general lighting, relying instead on soft, focused sources of light. Natural candles placed along the walls complete the setting, enhancing the sense of relaxation, intimacy, and privacy.
